Martin Wynne is active in the Digital Humanities team in OeRC. He is Director of User Involvement for CLARIN, a major pan-European initiative to build a research infrastructure for the creation and use of electronic language resources in the Humanities and Social Sciences. He is also UK national representative for CLARIN, and is working with the National Grid Initiative to host CLARIN services on a cloud computing platform.
Martin has a role in IT Services, where he is Senior Research Support Officer, running the Oxford Text Archive and the British National Corpus, and working with The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH). He is also a member of the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics, and teaches a research methods for the English faculty. Martin has previously worked as a researcher in linguistics at the Universities of Birmingham and Lancaster, and the Institut für Deutsche Sprache in Germany, and as a lecturer at Goldsmiths, London, and at the University of Lodz in Poland. His main research interest is in studying the language of literary and non-literary texts using electronic tools and methods.
