Dr Mark Hylton is Centre Administrator and a Research Facilitator for the Oxford e-Research Centre
Mark joined the Centre in July 2008 after 8 years with EPSRC working in the ICT, Engineering, Chemistry and Complexity Science Programmes as well as the RCUK Basic Technology Programme. Mark has a lot of experience with assisting research groups in developing strategy and research grant applications.
While originally trained as a research geologist in evolutionaryresponses to environmental change of Jurassic marine microfauna, Mark has worked as a creative research facilitator in the UK and more recently China, along the way gaining an MSc in Creativity.
As the Centre Administrator I:
- Manage OeRC & OSC annual budgets & reporting
- Manage research awards & budgets
- Assist researchers in submitting proposals to funding bodies, including providing costings and liasing with Research Services
With respect to the Oxford Supercomputing Centre (OSC) I can:
- Help new users access the OSC services
- Estimate time and costs for OSC resources on research grants
- Provide advice on FeC costings
- Facilitate research collaborations for funding proposals
