CCP12 is the CCP for High Performance Computing in Engineering.  Its activities cover a range of applications and codes, including both CFD (computational fluid dynamics) and LBM (Lattice Boltzmann Method) codes.

An ASEArch study group on "Future-proof parallelisation of multi-block structured grid codes" was held on April 25th/26th, 2013 with members of CCP12.  This generated useful input for a related EPSRC project in Oxford/Bristol/Southampton/STFC, and has also led to ASEArch work on the GPU and Xeon Phi parallelisation of tridiagonal solvers which are used extensively in CFD.

A second ASEArch study group on “Multicomponent Lattice Boltzmann Method implementations on new HPC architectures” was held on June 17/18, 2013.  This may lead to ASEArch work at Daresbury on the DL_MESO code which is primarily developed as part of CCP5.
