We are pleased to announce that Prof David De Roure has been appointed as Director of the Oxford e-Research Centre, succeeding Prof Anne Trefethen who became Oxford's Chief Information Officer earlier this year. David will continue the Centre's commitment to technical innovation and the generation of new research outcomes and capabilities through collaborations across the University, and is looking forward to building on the Centre's international reputation in e-Science and advanced digital scholarship.

Prior to Oxford he was Professor of Computer Science at University of Southampton. Throughout his career he has applied advanced ICT approaches to a range of interdisciplinary research collaborations including bioinformatics, chemistry, environmental science, statistics, computational musicology, psychology and astronomy.
