e-Research Centre awarded new JISC Digging Into Data grant

The e-Research Centre has been award another JISC Digging Into Data (DiD) Grant for a new project: "Commonplace Cultures: Mining Shared Passages in the 18th Century using Sequence Alignment and Visual Analytics".

In this project the University of Oxford and University of Chicago will employ advanced visual analytics techniques to examine commonplace cultures in the 18th Century.

This award signifies the continuing role of Oxford e-Research Centre in fostering collaboration between computer scientists and humanities scholars. Building on the success of the Image Lenses project in the DiD II Programme, the team at the Centre is looking forward to the challenge of understanding 18th Century texts using 21st Century techniques.
