Be part of Cloudscape II
Cloudscape-II, being held in Brussels from 22-23 February 2010, aims to continue to explore the guiding principles which surround the importance of interoperability and the openness necessary for the development of grid-infrastructures as well as for the advent of cloud. Global standardisation efforts are a key priority and will be highly promoted in Cloudscape-II.
Cloudscape-II will analyse how both Cloud and Grid implementations tend to share many technologies and techniques, both being realized as distributed systems and often leveraging virtualization in one form or another. Today, dynamic capability is one of the features of cloud that differentiates it from grid by offering resources as and when needed. Virtualisation is another key difference. These are among the drivers to adoption. However, there are many challenges to be addressed with grid computing community contributing to cloud needs which will be discussed through different actors serving the academic and industrial communities which will ultimately help understand what Europe should do to build an effective Future Research Infrastructure.
The event leverages the successful outcomes of the 1st Cloudscape workshop, which drew over 100 participants from Europe and the US to discuss the benefits of the adoption of Cloud Computing for business and the challenges that this may bring such as Open Standards, Interoperability, Scalability, Management, Policies, Legal issues and the Advantages of clouds.
