Advanced Data Mining wins international award

Ramon Granell and David Wallom at the Oxford e-Research Centre and their collaborator Colin Axon in the School of Engineering and Design at Brunel University, have won the best poster prize at the 9th International Conference on Machine Learning and Data Mining in New York, USA (19-25 July).

Their paper entitled ‘A Dirichlet Process Mixture Model  for Clustering of Household Electricity Load Profiles’ demonstrates a novel computational method to help the electricity distribution industry to better understand power demand.
