Registering for the use of OxGrid resources
The registration process for the OxGrid system is intended to ensure that you the user get the most out of the system. The first step is to fill in the form to Register to use OxGrid
If you are using your own software or licensed software then please include this information plus a brief description of how you currently execute your jobs if you are able.
We will then arrange a meeting with you during which we will further discuss your software requirements and collect further details such as contact information and if necessary personally assist you through the Applying to the CA for a certificate page. We will also assist you in completing the application for the UK National Grid Service.
For this meeting also please have available a copy of the software code with an a set of example configuration files (or just the config files if running a licensed application), along with a short README on how the code is run, configuration variables that are altered if a parameter sweep type of application etc. We will take this and design a system for automating this process and hence launching many hundreds of individual jobs.
Once we have completed the script etc. we will arrange another meeting during which we will walk you through the use of your code on the campus grid and hence launch several example jobs so that you can understand how the system works.
We will also subscribe you to two email lists - one that handles system wide announcements and another that is for system user discussion. Our aim with the campus grid is to build a community not individual islands of people that use the system. Neither of these lists have a particularly heavy traffic load.
