Access Grid Video Conferencing

There are several options available for video conferencing within the Oxford e-Research Centre.  We have two Access Grid (AG) rooms available, one based in the e-Science Building, which is the biggest of its kind within the University, and another based at Begbroke Science Park. These enable multi-site desktop video conferencing using InSORS software and will also allow participation in H323 and VRVS video conference meetings.

Main OeRC Access Grid Room

Access Grid (AG) enables multi-site desktop video conferencing (over IP). A whole range of multimedia display possibilities and interfaces to visualization environments are available through the AG technologies.

To book our room please contact accessgrid@oerc.ox.ac.uk.

Streaming Media

The Oxford e-Research Centre also has the capability to stream out workshops and other events that are occurring in either the main AG room or through one of the mobile units. People wishing to view these should have the Real Player software for live events and Real Player or Windows Media Player for recorded events.

Visualisation

Our main AG room is also available to act as a large visualisation system, particularly with the use of the digital whiteboard technologies that we have installed. This is particularly useful for the markup and annotation of large images.
