Abstract
Dr. Rodrigo Santamaria is an Assistant Professor at the University of Salamanca in Spain. His PhD in Bioinformatics was focused on biclustering, gene expression analysis and information visualisation.
"Biological ontologies, such as GO, KEGG or Reactome, comprehend a large number of terms organized on a hierarchical way. Voronto visualizes these whole hierarchies on a tree-map fashion with Voronoi tessellations, and maps them with the corresponding activation levels from user-provided expression data. In the talk we will discuss the issues regarding hierarchical visualization, and introduce Voronto with some practical use cases."
