Gabriel Bodard will talk about his new project to create standards for bringing together references to the same or related people from ancient Greek and Latin texts: Standards for Networking Ancient Prosopographies: Data and Relations in Greco-Roman Names (SNAP:DRGN:  http://snapdrgn.net/about ; http://www.kcl.ac.uk/artshums/depts/ddh/newsrecords/2014/snapdrgn.aspx). His talk will span subjects such as Big Data, Linked Data and Prosopographies in the Ancient world, and is likely to be of interest to Classicists, the Ashmolean, the Bodleian Libraries, and IT services, as well as anyone looking to handle and deal with large volumes of heterogeneous data.
