Posters

This area of the Library contains posters that have been produced for Oxford e-Research Centre research projects, events and services.

No albums or photos uploaded yet.

BioImage & ImageStore
This A0 poster contains details about BioImage & ImageStore, which aim to produce semantic web tools for biological research images.
BVREH Poster
This is an A0 poster of the BVREH project which is supported by the Humanities Division at Oxford, hosted by the Oxford e-Research Centre, and funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), which promotes the innovative use of information and ommunications technology in academic teaching and research in the UK.
Cancer And Cardiac Imaging Poster
This A0 poster show the aim to develop an architecture, and prototype example systems to realise dynamically configurable personalised computational research environments NERC Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.
Cancer Grid poster
This A0 poster describes the CancerGrid project. It is an RC-funded consortium of clinicians, cancer researchers, omputational biologists and software engineers from leading UK institutions. The project is developing open-standards nformatics for the design and execution of cancer clinical trials.
Climate Prediction.Net poster
This is an A0 poster about CPDN. It is the world’s largest climate modelling experiment, and uses the “volunteer computing” paradigm a la SETI@home. It harnesses the power of personal computers to produce the largest ever ensemble of climate model simulations.
Climate Prediction.net 2nd Poster

e-Horizons Poster
This A0 poster is about the e-Horizons Institute which is focused on critically assessing competing visions of the future of media, information and communication technologies and their societal implications. The Institute’s key strategy is to examine leading-edge evelopments in the use of inforation and ommunication technologies in the sciences and humanities as a window on the future of technology in everyday life.
e-Science & Ancient Documents project - eSAD
This poster describes how algorithms have been developed to assist Classicists in reading ancient, damaged and scarcely legible documents and how NGS resources are used for the image analysis.
e-Science Project Management Poster
This A0 poster about E-Science promotes a vision of large-scale, distributed and collaborative research. Experience has shown us that managing such projects presents many challenges because of their large scale, distributed nature and the unique knowledge, experiences and vocabularies of the stakeholders involved.
eIUS poster
This A0 poster describes the eIUS as a detailed understanding of how UK researchers actually use e-Infrastructure services to facilitate their research across all major disciplinary areas.
Embedded e-Science Apps Poster
An A0 poster - E-Science promotes a vision of large-scale, distributed and collaborative research. It is believed that this vision will give rise to new forms of multi-institutional and multi-disciplinary science, allowing more complex scientific questions to be answered. In order to enable this vision we must successfully embed e-Science applications into researchers working environments. This is not merely a technical devour, but also a social process. A number of technical and social challenges have emerged embedding e-Science applications due to the size, distributed nature and the unique knowledge, experiences and vocabularies of project participants involved in e-Science collaborations.
Integrative Biology Poster
This is an A0 poster about Integrative Biology. It is an international, multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary project driven by the e-Science vision that Grid technology will allow computational biologists to carry out collaborative ‘in silico’ experiments within a distributed virtual laboratory, or collaboratory. Such a lab will integrate the best available resources for computation, data management, visualisation and analysis. For running complex multi-scale computer models of whole organs, better accuracy and greater detail, coupled with lots of computing power, are the keys to progress.
Integrative BiologyVirtual Research Environment Poster
An Ao Poster - The Integrative Biology VRE project was a JISC funded Virtual Research Environment project based at the University of Oxford that ran for two years between April 2005 and March 2007. Led by Professor David Gavaghan, it aimed to investigate and develop the VRE concept in a computational biology setting by extending and complementing the work of the EPSRC ntegrative Biology project.
IntBioSim Poster
This is an A0 poster about the IntBioSim project. The overall aim of this project is to explore and establish an integrated approach to computational systems biology spanning from the chemical to the subcellular level of simulations.
Smoking adjoints in Finance poster
This is an A0 poster by Mike Giles entitled: “Smoking adjoints” and multilevel Monte Carlo for stochastic differential equations in finance.
Molecular Dynamics Simulations Poster
This is an A0 poster called: Molecular dynamics simulations provide models for how a soluble protein converts into amyloid fibrils.
MicroSoft Collaborations Poster
This is an A0 poster containing brief summary of Oxford activities involving Microsoft.
Microsoft Cancer and Cardiac Imaging Poster
This is an A4 poster describing the Microsoft Cancer and Cardiac Imaging project.
NEES Grid poster
This A0 poster describes the application of e-Science to earthquake engineering.
Neurogrid poster
This is an A0 poster describing Collaborative Neuroscience via Grid Computing
National Grid Service
This is an A0 poster about the NGS. The mission of the National Grid Service is to provide coherent electronic access for UK researchers to all computational and data based resources and facilities required to carry out their research, independent of resource or researcher location.
Oxford e-Research Centre Poster
This is an A0 poster about the projects that go on in the center.
OeSS Poster
The is an A0 poster about the OeSS: Oxford e-Social Science Project.
Optiputer poster
This an A0 poster about the Optiputer project.
Theory And Simulation Of Nanomorphology Poster
This is an A0 poster about Theory And Simulation Of Nanomorphology and understanding the relationship between structure, shape and stability at the nanoscale.
Oxford Super Computing Poster
An A0 OSC poster. Thanks to a £3m investment of SRIF3 funding from the University, the OSC is increasing it’s capabilities by more than an order of magnitude and becoming a University wide service for all researchers.
